Everybody knows Phantom of the Opera. It's the classic musical about a half-masked ghoul haunting a beautiful theater and one girl's dream to learn from a ghost and perform there.

It's epic. It's sweeping. It's problematic.

It's Broadways longest running show, and it has a shit load of synth.

New Team Honeybear invites all those with a love (or anything else) for Drew L. Weber's magnum opus to join them and their friends for a night of new comedy and music all inspired by Phantom of the Opera!

[Insert Musical] Jokes is a monthly variety featuring all new, original content – and everything is inspired by one of your favorite musicals. Each month, Anthony and Jeff are joined by some of the best comedians and broadway performers NYC has to offer to create something truly magical and truly hilarious.

The show takes a pure and unadulterated love of musical theatre and bastardizes it with avant-garde sketch comedy.

Each show is inspired by a different musical, and past shows have included: Into the Jokes! (an Into the Woods inspired night of comedy) and Spring AwakenJokes! (a comedy variety show where Jeff and Anthony took you to the school across the street from the school in Spring Awakening, a school where the kids, in fact, love to learn…).

It’s been 5 years since the 2014 “film” adaptation of The Last Five Years. We say it’s high time to bring some justice back to the beloved classic(?) two-person musical everyone sings when they’re alone in a car!!

This month’s iteration of New Team Honeybear’s monthly musical variety series [Insert Musical] Jokes! welcomes some of Broadway’s most talented performers and NYC’s best comedians for a night of original comedy all inspired by a love for JRB’s hit musical.
